Circumcision

Besides his adorable position, notice his little mohawk!
Sleepin' buddies
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rocky went in for his Circumcision last week. I thought I would be all tough and stay and hold his hand, but I could bearly stand it when I held him while the nurse pricked his heel :( Kyle stayed with him for support, but I could hear him clear out in the waiting room! Poor little guy, good thing he is such a trooper. The doctor came to get me and as he was walking me to the room, he was saying that Rocky had a little bit harder of a time than most other babies do. Heartbreaking!! I think I had a little bit harder of time than most MOMS! How am I going to make it through all of his "real" surgeries ...

We finally got him home and to calm down. We noticed, however that his breathing wasn't normal. It was almost like he was gasping for air at times. Kyle had me call the nurse and ask her about it - she said to just watch it, and if it gets worse to take him in. It was still going on about an hour later, and so we decided to call my dad (Respiratory Therapist). He asked us to check some things, Kyle's mom checked his lungs through a stethoscope, we checked his color, etc. Everything else seemed fine and he, too, told us just to watch it and to take him in if we feel like he needed to be treated.

At the doc's, they weighed and measured him again. He was 6 lbs. 6 oz. and 20 1/4 in. long!! He has been gaining an oz. or more a day, which is Awesome! We have definetely been able to tell, too - He's finally getting some meat on his little limbs. We are still fortifying his milk, and feeding him every 3 hours, except throughout the night, every 4 hrs.

Back to the breating issue... everything turned out to be fine. He was all back to normal by morning. We are thinking it was just because of how hard he was crying and how freaked out he was. OR because of the pain he felt every time he moved ...
