His post-op appt. was yesterday. Dr. Morales said he looks really good. He took the suture out of his nose so we were able to take the tubes out for the day. He looks SO GOOD! I cannot believe how different he looks. And So handsome! He is such a patient little guy, I love him so much. He needs to keep that in as much as possible, although no one has found an efficient way to do so. The bottom picture is what we came up with. We put an needle and fishing line through the "whiskers" and taped it to his cheeks. It's still not all the way in, but it sure is better than it was. We also need to rub his scar with Vitamin E oil for a minute twice a day. He loves that ....

...It's true :)

Recovery

He is actually recovering faster than normal, I think. His stitches look really good, can bearly even see that they're there anymore. He is, however, having troubles eating and staying asleep. We have tried different nipples, different temperatures, different techniques, etc. We finally got some pedialyte and he loved the sweetness of that -- too bad it's so darn expensive! We also tried formula, and the bottles that he DOES end up getting down him have been the formula bottles. So maybe he is just sick of breast milk ..??? Yeah, i've never heard of it either! Ha, but who knows with this stinker.
Just a couple days after surgery. He had a black eye for a few days :(
I took one side of his "bow" off to replace the tape ... he looks so good!

Ever since surgery, we've been pulling his hands away from his face-he is now very careful about where his hands are. It's the cutest thing ever. He's also started to looove his blankets. He always snuggles up to them like this, it's adorable.
Haha We still have fun with him, even (or especially...) when he's all drugged up ;)

Home!

We came home last night, about 9:30. The nurse said his urine output numbers looked ok, and he looked good so she was fine with him leaving. I just slept with him in my arms all night and we both slept 100% better than the night before. He is still a little fussy and you can tell he hurts a little, but thank heaven for medicine!!

Morning after surgery .. it was a looooong night

Getting ready to go home!
Black eye :(
